Stacey Krbaleski Melbourne Childrens Photography - Best Time of Day During summer toddler, children and family sessions are booked early in the morning (starting no later than 9am) or two hours prior to sunset. This gives us the best lighting and avoids overhead shadows. During autumn, winter and spring, sessions are held at a mutually convenient time. All newborn sessions are conducted throughout the day.
Stacey Krbaleski Photography, Melbourne Newborn Photographer The first few days at home with your new baby are so special and so busy. So very busy! This time will fly by, with the blink of an eye weeks will have passed and before you know it your new born baby will be 2 months old.
Photographing newborn babies is a very special experience. Often I will meet your new baby before many friends and family members; this is something I take very seriously. I will schedule a three hour time slot for your session in your home, giving your baby time to feed, be changed and sleep all within his or her own schedule and environment. There is no rush, no overextending and no expectations - except of course a mandatory spill (newborn babies tend to wee at a most inconvenient time), nothing a cup of tea and a little patience wont fix.
We need to make sure you newborn photo session happens in the first 3 weeks of being home. So please confirm your session prior to your due date and add me to your sms list when you announce the arrival of your little one.
Stacey Krbaleski Photography, Melbourne Family Photographer Older children and family sessions last approximately two hours and may travel to more than one destination. If we are covering more than one location I like to start at the place you would like any group shot taken. Perhaps at the park or beach we can try to cover any combinations of group shots, and then follow you and the children around. I give children one on one time letting them have their own “mini shoot” and capturing their individual personality. Often family sessions include a variety of ages and the little ones tend to fade first so we need to schedule around the youngest child.
Stacey Krbaleski, Melbourne Childrens Photographer With toddlers its Go! Go! Go! We have to be quick. We have to schedule well. Sleepy toddlers equal grumpy toddlers, as do hungry toddlers and a board toddler is the hardest of them all. So we need to book your session at a time that works for your little one, they need to be rested, this might mean first thing in the morning or straight after an afternoon nap. It’s handy to have some snacks on hand and even a little bribe here or there. Please try not to feed your toddler pumpkin or pureed carrots before I arrive. Even if you wipe their faces clean, the photos will turn out orange.
I find it easiest to take photos of the little ones when Mum and Dad are not looking. If children are told to look at the camera and smile, you can pretty much guarantee they won’t. So I try to take things naturally, get them when they are doing what they do best, just playing. These sessions are so much fun, kids just love having their photo taken and I love capturing this.
Toddlers photograph so well in many environments including your home, the park, the beach, the zoo, birthday parties, its up to you (or your toddler).
I will schedule approximately two hours for your toddler session but often the kids won’t last longer than one hour (its hard work being a star). Don’t forget to pick out a few changes of clothes.
